As both internal coach in the House of Commons and BBC, and as a freelance coach, I have over a decade of experience working to support people leading change in their organisation, in career transitions, to develop emotional intelligence, build resilience, lead teams and manage difficult work relationships. I also train other coaches in these skills. I have an MBA, am a Senior Coach Practitioner with the EMCC and have a PgDip in Coaching and Development. Everyone has more potential than they know, and I help people to realise that. To do this, we will work together to clarify what you want to achieve, raise your awareness of what’s getting in the way, and develop steps toward your goals. As your accountability partner, I will help you commit and focus on what you need to do—and celebrate with you when you achieve it. When you are more satisfied in work, this not only impacts you, but also has a domino effect on everyone around you

Matt Avison MA OBE

Matt Avison MA OBE RN Rtd – EMCC Senior coach practitioner

Matt is an executive coach, manager, qualified instructor and trainer – he is a senior Sales Director and leader in a large multi-national engineering company in addition to his vocational work as a coach. Matt spent 26 years as an Officer in the Royal Navy where he led teams of up to 660 people – he was awarded an OBE for his leadership of a Royal Navy helicopter force in Afghanistan. His experience in industry has allowed him to blend the leadership and management lessons and styles learned during his military service with those more commonly found in the civil sector to gain a rounded view of the multiple approaches taken.

Matt started on his formal coaching journey 7 years ago after he himself received some life changing help as part of his sales director role – his aim now is to help others gain similar benefits for themselves.

Matt is qualified as a Senior Practitioner with the European Mentoring & Coaching Council; he has coached at all levels from Graduate/Apprentice to Vice President, he has worked with range of clients from apprentices and graduates to Managing Directors of businesses and hugely successful entrepreneurs. Among many others, he has coached teachers, soldiers, waitresses, professional sportspeople, other coaches, and consultant oncologists – all of whom were looking to get much closer to achieving the performance that they knew was within their capability but somehow seemed to allude them. Matt passionately believes that coaching is the way to release this potential.
